WordPress Comment Spam

 

1st – Look at the email.

If it is hotmail, gmail, yahoo then be suspicious
2nd – Check what the URL is.

This is the website that the comment will link back to if you approve it.

If it is a competitor website you may not want to link to their website. Or it may be a business that is completely irrelevant to yours and therefore not useful to your readers.

If someone makes a good comment but the URL is irrelevant then when you go into the comments section you can remove the URL and then approve the comment.

Otherwise if its a good comment and good url you can just approve as is.
